All Night Vigil

Being able to perform Rachmaninoff's haunting and exhilarating All Night Vigil in superb settings like St Lawrence's Towcester and St Mary's Bloxham was a real treat. Adding superb 'scene setters' like Martynov's Beatitudes allowed our top sops to show what they can really do too, while Esenvalds and Arnesen created the mood too. Whitacre gate crashed for a quick nap too. A refreshing return to Byzantine chant styles surprised some, while the alto solo delivery was heart warming and fulsome. Show casing some new young tenor soloists added spice too. It's a wonderful piece, and we will reprise it as a regular in our repertoire.
